Matt serves as the Property Manager for SeaView Community Services. His older brother invited him to live in Seward in the late 70’s and his pre-existing substance use continued. He escaped from it all by moving into what was then a remote log cabin across the bay from Seward, in the beautiful 4th of July Valley. Here he found himself and God in the peace of nature and quit his dependencies once and for all. When he returned to the civilized life and married, he began his construction career.
He joins Seaview with a GED, a Journeyman carpentry certificate and 30 years of experience building in Seward. Once Matt hired on, he began to formulate a multi-year plan, utilizing his vast experience and Go-To Facilities Team (Ralen Poole and Rudey Gaussoin), for remodeling Seaview’s main plaza building which includes more security for staff and clients, painting the exterior and landscaping.
Matt’s life has been touched by the dependency struggles of friends and family as well as his own. As a longtime Seward resident, he feels very blessed to be giving back, through Seaview’s Mission, to the Community that has given him so much.
